Since June 2020, the ANU has taken forward a program of poverty research housed within the Poverty and Inequality Research Centre at the ANU. This program of work includes the Individual Measure of Multidimensional Poverty, provides decision-makers with detailed, nuanced and relevant information needed for effective policies, programs and services.

IMMP is both a measurement concept and a tool, grounded in over ten years of rigorous research.

In 2020, the ANU has seen exceptional engagement with IMMP from stakeholders, including local and national government agencies from Indonesia and South Africa, where studies were conducted in 2018 and 2019.
